This game is based on pipeline pigging operations, if you'd like to find out more...

Pigs or ‘pipeline internal gauges’ are used to clean and inspect pipelines. They often consist of polyurethane discs with steel bodies, or solid polyurethane foam. Inserted at one end of the pipeline, they are propelled via a pig launcher alongside oil, gas, water and many other products – this process is known as ‘pigging.’

When they reach the end of the pipeline, they are collected in a pig receiver and removed. Inspection pigs are loaded with electronics, sensors and computers and as they travel along the pipeline, they can detect corrosion and pitting.
